“Thank you for all your support Ken, especially this week. I am thoroughly enjoying your courses and the consultations, you are doing a great job keeping me focused on the task ahead…. one can get very distracted with all this newly acquired fame you know!” … well done to Kate … a well deserved winner! … I was particularly pleased with this, as Kate had attended my Presentations Course only weeks before making her award winning presentation!
Carl Henderson (Guisborough Carpets) got his NBSL support at the start of the year, and we’ve worked together on various campaigns since then … In September he send out a postcard campaign informing the population around Guisborough and Redcar areas of a ‘special offer’ (free carpet fitting etc) and this led directly to an extra £4,000 of new business orders in October taking his monthly turnover from £2,500 to £6,500 !!! … the campaign cost less than £400, so he got a ten fold return on his investment! How good is that?!! More info at www.guisboroughcarpetcentre.com
Karen Webb (‘Crusher’s Comforts’ & ‘North Pennine Ferret Welfare’) Karen attended a series of Ken’s training courses on Sales, Marketing and Presentation Skills, and received funding from NBSL to work with Ken on her Marketing campaigns. Ken is delighted to report that Karen has recently been featured on the CBBC programme ‘Live and Deadly’ with Steve Backshall, has been interviewed by Jonathan Miles for his BBC Radio Newcastle programme, and holds regular ‘Meet the Ferrets’ days at many of the ‘Pets At Home’ stores around the North East. She is hoping to have her range of hand made designer luxury pet beds (‘Crusher’s Comforts’) stocked nationally by ‘Pets At Home’ … and there’s even talk of a TV series of her childrens books (‘Crusher’s Chronicles’). In short, her business has taken off in the last few months, and Karen says that Ken has given her the skills (and perhaps more importantly the confidence!) to take her business to the next level …. more info at http://northpennineferrets.com
Malcolm McGeachy (YMS Training) Malcolm was one of Ken’s earliest clients to take advantage of support from NBSL … only a year ago, Malcolm (an award winning trainer of many different types of training inc. Health And Safety etc) was working from his 4th bedroom home office in Murton. Ken received an e-mail from Malcolm recently telling him the business was growing really well, that he has opened a new office in Seaham, and that his daughter Sandra was now full time in the business … and did Ken know of any other trainers who could possibly join him! Gerard Harrison (Helios Eco Solutions) Gerard has been quick to exploit the huge interest in the new technology of PhotoVoltaic Solar Panels (Roof panels which convert the sun’s energy to electricity, reducing householder’s bills and creating an income by utilising the government’s tariff scheme to sell excess electricity to the National Grid!). Gerard received his NBSL funding early in 2010, and worked with Ken on marketing campaigns to establish and promote the new company, resulting in a full page ‘Advertorial’ in the ‘Sunderland Echo’ in July, resulting in further orders for his systems. (this excellent exposure cost Gerard absolutely NOTHING!). As Ken often says … “Marketing doesn’t have to be expensive!”). The biggest payoff might still be to come as Ken has introduced Gerard to another of his clients, Ken Wright (‘Rosedale Utilities’ of Chiltern) who supply services to Care and Nursing Homes, and they have plans to promote Gerard’s systems to the Care homes that Ken also supplies! Ken Wright has also received NBSL funding and has already revised his marketing material with Ken’s help. Introducing clients to each other is something that Ken does regularly, and he has seen some very encouraging results so far! More info on both Companies at http://helioseco.co.uk and http://rosedaleutilities.com
Peter Crone (‘Elite Roller Shutter Doors’) Peter received his NBSL support early this year, and has nearly quadrupled his turnover during the time that Ken has worked with him.. Peter has grown so quickly that he has doubled his manufacturing unit space at the Middlesbrough ‘Riverside’ site and is now branching out into supplying garage doors as well as bespoke roller shutter doors of all specifications. Another great NBSL success story!
Trish Waters (‘Niche Hairdressing’) Another client, Trish Waters … recently rebranded her Hairdressing Business in Norton, Stockton-on-Tees to ‘Niche Hairdressing’, gaining great publicity in the form of a whole page article in the local newpaper … and gaining some new clients along the way! Trish involved her local MP and linked her rebrand opening party with ‘Breast Cancer Care’ … well done to Trish! … See more details at http://niche-hair.com/
